The Gwen Timeline
From forgotten doll to Hallowed protector — scroll to follow her story.

The Doll
In the kingdom of Camavor, a seamstress named Isolde stitched together a doll from cloth, thread, and a pair of small scissors — a companion for a lonely childhood.
Isolde poured her own longing for adventure and nobility into every seam. The doll sat quietly at her side through the years, present for quiet evenings and make-believe duels alike, holding nothing but the shape Isolde had given it. It had no thoughts, no voice, no life of its own — only the patient stillness of fabric and thread, waiting in the dark for a story that hadn't started yet.
- Created by Isolde, a seamstress from the kingdom of Camavor
- Stitched from cloth and thread, armed only with a small pair of scissors
- Remained a lifeless doll for centuries

The Return to Life
Centuries later, Viego's grief-fueled attempt to revive Isolde unleashed the Ruination — and a fragment of her soul found its way into the doll instead.
When the Ruined King carried Isolde's body to the Blessed Isles, hoping to undo her death, the magic he unleashed shattered the Isles into the Shadow Isles and scattered Isolde's soul across the wreckage. One fragment drifted into the doll that had once sat at her side. In an instant, thread and cloth remembered what it meant to move, to feel, to choose — and Gwen opened her eyes for the first time.
- Viego's attempt to revive Isolde triggered the Ruination
- A fragment of Isolde's soul bonded with the doll
- This is the moment the doll became Gwen

The Hallowed Mist
The same magic that gave Gwen life also wrapped her tools in the Hallowed Mist — an ancient, protective force standing directly opposed to the corrupting Black Mist.
Where the Black Mist consumes and corrupts, the Hallowed Mist shelters and protects. It answers to Gwen alone, cloaking her in a haze that keeps distant enemies at bay while she chooses when — and who — to let close. Scholars of the Shadow Isles believe the Mist is tied to whatever remains of Isolde's love, still watching over the doll she once made.
- The Hallowed Mist is the narrative counterpart to the Black Mist
- It shields Gwen from enemies outside its radius
- Only Gwen can be targeted once inside her own mist

The Scissors
The same scissors, needles, and thread once used to create Gwen are now blessed by the Hallowed Mist — turned from sewing tools into a weapon she wields with total precision.
Gwen fights the way she once was made: with quick, deliberate cuts. Her scissors snip through enemies in rapid succession, her needle flies true across the battlefield, and her thread binds wounds shut as easily as it once bound fabric. Every strike carries an echo of the hands that first shaped her — tools of creation, now tools of protection.
- Her weapons are the very tools used to create her: scissors, needles, and thread
- In game, they become her Q (Snip Snip!), E (Skip 'n Slash), and R (Needlework)
- Her passive, A Thousand Cuts, reflects her precise, cutting fighting style

Gwen, the Champion
Gwen now fights alongside the Sentinels of Light, standing against Viego and the Black Mist he unleashed — graceful, curious, and quietly terrified of the death she now understands.
Having only just learned what it means to be alive, Gwen treats every experience — every color, every sound, every choice — as something precious. She serves the Sentinels as both a devoted fighter and, fittingly, their tailor, mending what the war tears apart. Kind and unfailingly polite even in battle, she carries her creator's love forward the only way she knows how: by protecting others from the dark that once nearly claimed her too.
- Fights alongside the Sentinels of Light against Viego and the Black Mist
- Also serves as the Sentinels' tailor and hairstylist
- Graceful and kind, but deeply afraid of death now that she truly lives
